The trust

Muniyalu Udaya Krishnayya Shetty Charitable Trust (R.)

The trust carries out the social work Udaya Shetty Muniyal is engaged in. Its programmes fall into four broad areas.

    Economic

    • Varada Sarathi — a weekly award recognising an auto-rickshaw driver serving the rural parts of the taluk.
    • Seed capital for poor, talented and unemployed young men and women to start out on their own.
    • Financial help towards building a new home for families in need.
    • Financial and medical help for people with disabilities.
    • Support for local organisations, clubs, temples, schools, churches and mosques.

  2. 02

    Education

    • Scholarships open to talented and needy students of every community.
    • Personality development courses for primary, high school, pre-university and graduate students — more than 3,000 completed so far.
    • A full-time lecturer employed by the trust to run the programme, which has been widely appreciated across Udupi district.

    Medical

    • A fund towards the cost of diagnosis and treatment for families who cannot meet it themselves.
    • Assistance for patients suffering from kidney and heart conditions and from cancer.

    Events

    • National-level Pro Kabaddi, organised in the constituency with the help of friends and supporters.
    • Kesared Onji Dina — district and taluk level rural games.
    • Support towards the renovation of temples, shrines and religious places in need of repair.

What the trust runs

ಸಮಾಜಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ

"ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗ" — ಸತತ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಎಂತವರನ್ನೂ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಉತ್ತುಂಗಕ್ಕೇರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಜೀವನದಿಂದಲೇ ಸತತ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತ ಗುರಿ ತಲುಪಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಆ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ತಲುಪಲು ಹೆತ್ತವರ, ಪೋಷಕರ, ಗುರುಗಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಅಗತ್ಯ. ಆ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದಾಯಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ನನ್ನ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಆಸೆಯನ್ನು "ಮುನಿಯಾಲು ಉದಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣಯ್ಯ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ (ರಿ)" ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ ನನಸಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ಈ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೇವಲ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನವಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಪೀಡಿತರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಧನ, ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತಹ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಸಮಾಜಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ನನ್ನ ಸಮಾಜಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಪುಣ್ಯಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಕಾರದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ.

ಸಮಾಜಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ತಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಸಮಾಜಸುಧಾರಣೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡೋಣ ಎಂದು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
